The Tango Orchestra of Buenos Aires (Orquesta del Tango de la Ciudad) will be playing at Centro Cultural San Martin (Parana & Sarmiento) beginning at 1 PM.  The orchestra is led by Raul Garello, and features Nestor Marconi (bandeonista) and Juan Carlos Cuacci.  (free)

July 25 (Wednesday)
  • Los 36 Billares (Av de Mayo 1265) will feature Gabriela Novaro singing from her CDs "Abretango" and "Otra Historia" accompanied by guitar, bandoneon, and/or piano beginning at 9 PM. She will be accompanied by a musical quartet.  (40 pesos plus consumption)
  • Carolina Winograd, with invited guest Limon Garcia, will be appearing at Torquato Tasso (Defensa 1575) beginning at 10 PM.  Seating and serving begins at 9 PM.  (40 pesos plus consumption)
  • The Salon Pugliese within the Centro Cultural de la Cooperacion (Corrientes 1543) will host its weekly tango concert beginning at 8:30 PM.  This week the concert will feature the well known Guillermo Fernandez with other invited artists. The space is small and his popularity will attract a good showing.  (30 pesos)
  • The intimate Cafe Montserrat (San Jose 524) will host a "Show de Tango" featuring Abel Cordoba singing and the Nazareno Altamirano Trio on guitars beginning at 9 PM. (40 pesos plus consumption - light fare available)
  • Clasica y Moderna (Callao 892) will feature a show entitled "Buenos Aires at Midnight" modeled after the Woody Allen movie "Midnight in Paris".  The repertoire will include a musical stroll through the BsAs of yesteryear, featuring Gabriel Rolon accompanied by violin and piano and emphasizing the music and verse of Borges, Piazzolla, Freud, and Garcia Lorca, among other legends  (9:30 PM)  (? pesos)
  • Orquesta Tipica el Afronte will be performing live at the Maldita Milonga (Peru 571 in San Telmo).   The wonderful classic and loved milongueros Coca & Osvaldo (2004 world champions) will be dancing.  The milonga generally starts up after 10:30 PM.  (Cost ?)

    • 34 Puñalada & Altertango will be appearing at Torquato Tasso (Defensa 1575) beginning at 10 PM.  Seating and serving begins at 9 PM.  (60 pesos plus consumption)
    • Los 36 Billares (Av de Mayo 1265) will feature Jorge Fara accompanied by guitarrist Juan Otero and bandeonista Gustavo Paglia beginning around 9 PM. They will be featuring the music of famous composers and lyricists who have enriched the tango repertoire.  (50 pesos)

    • Guitarists, Juanjo Dominguez and Hugo Rivas will be featured at Torquato Tasso (Defensa 1575) playing from their tango repertoire beginning at 10 PM.  Seating and serving begin at 9 PM.  (100 pesos)
    • Los 36 Billares (Av de Mayo 1265) will feature the well known tango singer Lidia Borda accompanied by guitarrist Ariel Arganaraz beginning after 9:30 PM.  Luis Borda will make an invited appearance. (80 pesos)
    • The duo of Polly Ferman (piano) and Daniel Binelli (bandoneon) will be appearing in a concert of Argentine music at the UOCRA Foundation (Azopardo 954) beginning at 8:30 PM. (2 pesos)

    • Los 36 Billares (Av de Mayo 1265) will feature the well known Maria Grana and the Esteban Morgado Cuarteto singing from their individual repertoires beginning after 9:30 PM.  (80 pesos plus consumption)
    • Cafe Homero (Cabrera 4946 in Palermo Viejo) presents the "Quinteto" Pepe Motta with his new CD "Secretos del Alma" beginning at 9:30 PM.  Invited singers include Esteban Riera and the bandeonista Julio Pane. (60 pesos)
